Lots of quilting to do today!

Working on the background “fill” for this Diamond Star – its going to take some time. Sometimes I wish I could could just make myself meander!! However, the texture that this is giving the background is beautiful and compliments the quilting going on in the star nicely, if i do say so myself. It is created by using the Gadget Girls Swag ruler to make the scallops then filling in the scallops with leafy feathers.

Here’s a very creative and free tutorial on how to create those cool clothesline bowls and baskets! Love the hand-dyed rope too! Saves a lot of time not having to wrap the clothesline with fabric first! Check it out!

Great class – Everyone had a Janome!!! I’ve never seen anything like it – must be Janome-land over in Dover! This group of gals were quick studies and moved along at a good pace. I especially love the ingenuity of one of the ladies! Her seat was too low – as it always is when we trek out to a class – so she found a bag of fabric scraps to sit on. Every time she sat down, it made quite an interesting noise but it worked! I highly recommend keeping a pillow in your car for just such situations – or a bag of scrap fabric, if you are so inclined…
